NT Children's Commissioner: Lack of resources hurts child protection
Posted on October 01, 2014
Warren Barnsley

The Northern Territory Children's Commissioner says a lack of resourcing is obstructing the Territory's ability to provide support to families whose children are vulnerable.

Dr Howard Bath (pictured) has given evidence to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse where he was questioned on the child protection system.

Dr Bath says the NT Department of Children and Families is "hamstrung" in providing necessary services because there isn't enough funding available.
