The Aboriginal Disability Network of New South Wales is coordinating a forum to inform communities about changes resulting from the incoming National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The Newcastle forum, which began yesterday, is aimed at bringing together people with a disability and their families and carers to discuss opportunities presented by the NDIS.

Disability advisor with child protection organisation AbSec, Noel Walker, says many First Nations organisations are willing to engage with the new scheme.
