CRICKET - Michael Clarke's leadership of the Australian cricket team has gone to another level off the field in recent weeks and he's amazed everyone on the second day of the first Test in Adelaide.

Clarke (pictured)  was forced to retire hurt late on day one with a serious recurrence of his back injury and was given no chance of resuming his injury.

But the skipper resumed on day two after a night of treatment that included a number of painkilling injuries and was well on his way to a hundred when rain halted play at lunch.
